Oh yum. Nice to see that Karkat's sort of trapped by his blood as well, even if it's hard to sympathise with someone forced into taking a place at the top of the heap.

I guess no-one knew about Karkat's blood colour until shortly before he challenged, or some noble house would have stepped in to raise him, right? Bind the next Scarlet Emperor to them with emotional ties.

Interesting to see Sollux, I take it he's the adjutant Eridan was being taken to since he's just outside the nobility.

A second, older breeder...ooh that sounds interesting. I guess this way you can illustrate the differences in how Karkat has to bond them, right?

Sollux is a bit of an asshole still. Given how they're trained he probably didn't need to restrain the breeders - Eridan obeyed his master's orders even when there was no way he could have been caught disobeying. But if he hasn't had much to do with the nobility until now it could be an easy mistake to make.

The bit about fucking some sense into the breeders is cruel, and crude, but it reflects the realities and illustrates just how brainwashed and objectified they are.

But you were still hoping to have at least some chance at a normal concupiscent relationship or two before you moved on to the refined depravity of the upper nobility.

I just loved this line though, it brings home just how twisted this system is, especially in troll society where internal fertilisation is this weird alien thing.
